1 John 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

KJV

Vulgate

And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.

ASV

And as for you, let the unction, which you have received from him abide in you. And you have no need that any man teach you: but as his unction teacheth you of all things and is truth and is no lie. And as it hath taught you, abide in him.

Should wisdom be reckoned among the gifts of the Holy Ghost? What is its subject? Is wisdom only speculative or also practical? Is the wisdom that is a gift compatible with mortal sin? Is it in all those who have sanctifying grace? Which beatitude corresponds to it? Article 1. Whether wisdom should be reckoned among the gifts of the Holy Ghost? Objection 1. It would seem that w…
Is prudence in the will or in the reason? If in the reason, is it only in the practical, or also in the speculative reason? Does it take cognizance of singulars? Is it virtue? Is it a special virtue? Does it appoint the end to the moral virtues? Does it fix the mean in the moral virtues? Is its proper act command? Does solicitude or watchfulness belong to prudence? Does prudenc…
Q. But why are you called a Christian? A. Because by faith I am a member of Christ and so I share in his anointing. I am anointed to confess his name, to present myself to him as a living sacrifice of thanks, to strive with a good conscience against sin and the devil in this life, and afterward to reign with Christ over all creation for all eternity.
We affirm that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the Scriptures, assuring believers of the truthfulness of God's written Word. We deny that this witness of the Holy Spirit operates in isolation from or against Scripture.
