Tobit 7

7
What is Tobit 7 about?

Arriving at Raguel's house in Ecbatana, the travelers are welcomed warmly, and Raguel marvels at how much Tobias resembles his kinsman Tobit. Tobias asks at once for Sarah's hand, and Raguel, though he honestly discloses the seven deaths, gives her according to the law of Moses and draws up the marriage contract. He blesses the pair, calls for a feast, and prepares the bridal chamber, while Sarah is brought in and given to her kinsman. The meeting brings the two afflicted houses together in lawful marriage, advancing the deliverance the story has promised through God's ordering of events.
