Tobit 14

14
What is Tobit 14 about?

Old and near the end, Tobit gives his son final instructions, warning him to leave Nineveh because the prophets have foretold its ruin, and to settle in Media where safety lies. He blesses God once more, dies at a great age, and is honorably buried, and Anna is later laid beside him. Tobias departs for Ecbatana, cares for Raguel and Sarah's parents in their old age, and lives to hear that Nineveh has indeed fallen before he dies himself, praising God. The book closes with the pious rewarded, the wicked city judged, and the long life of the merciful held up as the fruit of faithfulness and almsgiving in exile.
