Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

KJV

Greek NT

et non est in alio aliquo salus. Nec enim aliud nomen est sub cælo datum hominibus, in quo oporteat nos salvos fieri.

Vulgate

And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.

ASV

Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.

13 passages from patristic writers, Reformers, and church catechisms citing this verse.

§432The name "Jesus" signifies that the very name of God is present in the person of his Son, made man for the universal and definitive redemption from sins. It is the divine name that alone brings salvation, and henceforth all can invoke his name, for Jesus united himself to all men through his Incarnation,23 so that "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we…
§1507The risen Lord renews this mission ("In my name . . . they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."115) and confirms it through the signs that the Church performs by invoking his name.116 These signs demonstrate in a special way that Jesus is truly "God who saves."117
Faith in Jesus Christ is a saving grace, whereby we receive and rest upon him alone for salvation, as he is offered to us in the gospel.
Summa Theologica · 2 passages
Is there an eternal law? Is there a natural law? Is there a human law? Is there a Divine law? Is there one Divine law, or several? Is there a law of sin? Article 1. Whether there is an eternal law? Objection 1. It would seem that there is no eternal law. Because every law is imposed on someone. But there was not someone from eternity on whom a law could be imposed: since God al…
What is "to believe," which is the internal act of faith? In how many ways is it expressed? Is it necessary for salvation to believe in anything above natural reason? Is it necessary to believe those things that are attainable by natural reason? Is it necessary for salvation to believe certain things explicitly? Are all equally bound to explicit faith? Is explicit faith in Chri…
All who say that the Gospel is nothing without the approbation of the Church err and slander God. The sum of the Gospel is that our Lord Jesus Christ, the true Son of God, has made known to us the will of His heavenly Father, and has with His innocence released us from death and reconciled God. Christ is the only way to salvation for all who ever were, are, and shall be.
Heidelberg Catechism · 2 passages
Q. What must you know to live and die in the joy of this comfort? A. Three things: first, how great my sin and misery are; second, how I am set free from all my sins and misery; third, how I am to thank God for such deliverance.
Q. Why is the Son of God called Jesus, meaning savior? A. Because he saves us from our sins. Salvation cannot be found in anyone else; it is futile to look for any salvation elsewhere.
We teach that the true God alone is to be adored and worshipped. This honor we impart to none other, according to the commandment of God: "You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve." Indeed, all the prophets severely censured the people of Israel whenever they worshipped strange gods. And the apostles taught that gold and silver images are not gods, that…
Luther denies that the Pope is the head of all Christendom by divine right. The Church is built on Christ alone, not on Peter or his successors. The papal claim to universal jurisdiction finds no warrant in Scripture and has led to tyranny over consciences. Luther will not acknowledge the Pope as head of the Church, for this would subject Christ's Gospel to human authority.
