notable
The angel strengthening Jesus and His sweat becoming like drops of blood in Gethsemane. These verses are absent from some of the earliest and best manuscripts. Their omission may be theological (early scribes may have removed them as suggesting Jesus needed help, or they were added to counter docetism by showing His full humanity). Justin Martyr and Irenaeus appear to know the passage, suggesting early existence.
