Wisdom 10
Wisdom
Chapter 10
10
What is Wisdom 10 about?
Beginning the survey of wisdom at work in Israel's past, the tenth chapter traces her hand from Adam, whom she raised after his fall, through Noah, Abraham, Lot, Jacob, and Joseph, guarding the righteous through flood, fire, exile, and prison. She then entered the soul of the servant of the Lord and stood against dreadful kings, delivering a holy people from their oppressors. The account carries Israel to the sea, where wisdom drowned the enemy and brought the righteous through on dry ground. Retelling sacred history as the record of wisdom's rescues, the chapter turns the book's praise into a reading of God's dealings with His people.
