The Lord our God is but one only living and true God, whose subsistence is in and of Himself, infinite in being and perfection. In this divine and infinite Being there are three persons, the Father, the Word or Son, and the Holy Spirit, of one substance, power, and eternity, each having the whole divine essence, yet the essence undivided.

At the burning bush, Moses encounters the self-existent God who cannot be contained by any name. The fire that burns without consuming symbolizes the divine nature that is eternal and self-sustaining. When God says "I AM THAT I AM," He reveals that existence itself is His essence — He is Being in its purest form, beyond all predication.
