Judges 4:9

And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

KJV

LXX

And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding, the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honor; for Jehovah will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

Historic Christian voices

3 passages from patristic writers, Reformers, and church catechisms citing this verse.

The Spirit of God doth manifestly speak in the Old Testament, pronouncing a malediction and curse upon that people where a woman reigneth. And the prophets, by the mouth of Deborah herself, declare that it was shame and confusion for Israel to be governed by a woman, which shame Barak sustained when Deborah went with him to battle.
