2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Unless you are born again, you can have no peace. You must not only be convinced of sin, not only believe on the Lord Jesus Christ; you must be truly regenerated and born again by the Spirit of the living God.
