And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?

Et ait Jonathas : Absit hoc a te : neque enim fieri potest, ut si certe cognovero completam esse patris mei malitiam contra te, non annuntiem tibi.

καὶ εἶπεν Ἰωναθάν Μηδαμῶς σοι, ὅτι ἐὰν γινώσκων γνῶ ὅτι συντετέλεσται ἡ κακία παρὰ τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐλθεῖν ἐπὶ σέ, καὶ ἐὰν μὴ ᾖ εἰς τὰς πόλεις σου, ἐγὼ ἀπαγγέλλω σοι.
