✠ The Suffering Servant
Isaiah's four Servant Songs and their fulfillment in Christ
Behold My servant, whom I uphold; Mine elect, in whom My soul delighteth.
I will also give Thee for a light to the Gentiles, that Thou mayest be My salvation unto the end of the earth.
I gave My back to the smiters, and My cheeks to them that plucked off the hair.
Behold, My servant shall deal prudently; He shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief.
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities.
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet: Himself took our infirmities.
The place of the scripture which he read was this: He was led as a sheep to the slaughter.
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree.
